Best Ways To Learn A Language, French

Ever woke up and thought, I want to learn French? I woke up like that the other day, I blame it on the dream. I went to France and no one could understand my English. I couldn’t ask anyone for directions home because I only knew English! I think I said something about this girlfriend being ugly. Anyways, the point of a the dream was that it made me want to learn to speak French. So I want to know, how hard is it to learn a new language?

The older you are, the harder it is to learn. This is mainly because your brain isn’t as active as it was when you were little. Children pick up languages like nothing else, because their brain activity is off the charts. So sorry gramps, but you will have a hard time learning to speak French in comparison to a 20 something like me. So what can someone like me do?

There are ways around getting a private tutor or taking classes. You’ll find that most programs are junk. Try picking up an English to French dictionary and learning from that. If you want to fall asleep during the lesson because it is boring, then I recommend you check out audio lessons. I found out that the best programs for learning how to speak a language combine audio, video and reading. This way you hit all three memory receptors and the lessons actually stick in your head. You are also able to play games to review on some of these programs, this definitely helps.

I found an awesome program that is actually pretty decently priced, Rocket French by Marie-Claire Riviere. It’s all online based, so you can access it anywhere. The lessons are very easy to follow and feature an actual French native. This way you will be getting a proper lesson in dialect and up to date terms so you don’t say something wrong in France. Anyways, I highly recommend you take a second and read the Rocket French review. Good luck in your quest to learn how to speak French my new friend!
