John Travolta Dubbed “cheesy” By Qantas Air Personnel

Actor John Travolta is not winning many enthusiasts among people who work for the Qantas airline. Qantas thought Travolta could punch up the pre-flight safety video, as Travolta is a spokesperson for Qantas and also licensed to fly commercial air lines. Among other criticism by Qantas air staff, the video is being called “trite” and “cheesy”.

Qantas flight crews not thrilled by Travolta phenomenon

In his official capacity as a global ambassador for Qantas Airways, Travolta stars in a pre-flight safety film that is shown on Qantas flights. As amusing as Travolta followers might find it, flight crews that serve aboard Qantas flights are not amused, according to the Daily Mail. The safety video is only shown on flights aboard an Airbus A380, and the video features the actor extolling the virtues of the aircraft and also the people who serve aboard Qantas flights. Flight crews are objecting to the video, saying the content is “cheesy” and “tacky.” Since Travolta states the “crew” is a “team” instead and the crew states that “it makes us feel like we work at McDonald’s” while the “safety message seems trite” in the way it is done.

Staff suggests actual professional pilot would be preferred

The Qantas movie needs a “real pilot” to make the crew happy. This is what Qantas crew has asked for. many have suggested that Qantas use Captain Richard de Crespigny, who made headlines several months ago after successfully piloting an A380 aircraft to safety after the aircraft suffered engine failure. Crespigny took off on Qantas Flight 32 from Singapore. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports that he was able to turn around and make a safe landing after an engine started to burst into flames when the motor had trouble. Crespigny was been credited with saving the lives of nearly 460 individuals which were aboard QF32 by doing this. many suggest that he is better than Travolta as a spokesperson.

Somebody else could be found by Qantas for the spokesperson that is nevertheless a celebrity

Licensed celeb pilots are not hard to find. You will find many of them. Travolta is one of the few that can fly commercial jets though. If a super star spokesman must be had, Iron Maiden singer Dickinson currently pilots Boeing 757s for British charter airline Astraeus while the band is inactive. The band, equipment and crew are flown by Astraeus in a 757 combination plane which was used in the world tour in 2008. There was a documentary on the band called “Flight 666” where the plane, named “Ed Force One” after the “Eddie the Head” mascot, was featured. Ed Force One, according to the Astraeus site, is about to head out on its second outing.
